    • Connected a scan tool and found code P0303 – Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected. Used the scan tool to monitor live data with the engine at idle and found the misfire counts on cylinder #3 increased. Inspected the ignition coil wiring harness and connector, but found no concerns. Used a multi-meter to check for voltage and ground at the ignition coil connector and found both were present. Used the multi-meter to measure the resistance of the ignition coil and found the measured resistance was not within specifications. These test results verified the ignition coil was faulty. Removed the spark plugs for inspection and found the spark plugs had excessive wear.
